Franky Prado, Veterinary Technician
Franky Prado grew up in the deep south of Texas, in a city named McAllen. Growing up with multiple pets and a love for the outdoors, he quickly developed an interest in the life sciences. He eventually moved to Austin where he attended the University of Texas and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2013. While pursuing his degree, he worked part-time in a research lab that studied the effects of alcohol tolerance in fruit flies. He also regularly volunteered at a low-cost vet clinic. With time he realized that he wanted to do more with his love for animals and a willingness to help others, rather than being in a lab all day. After graduating, he began working as a veterinary technician in Austin and this year he joined the amazing team at Firehouse in Kyle.
When Franky is not at Firehouse with his fulfilling role as a veterinary assistant, he’s at home with his own pets. He and his girlfriend have four wonderful pets together. Those include three Chihuahua mixes named Fergie, Philomena, and Tabasco, as well as a ferret named Chinchi. In his free time, Franky likes to take his dogs for walks and finds new trails to explore. He also enjoys watching TV shows and movies when he’s not playing video games.
